The Kato Ballroom was built in 1946 and has played a large part in the musical history of Mankato and Minnesota for over 68 years. Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Bobby Vee and many other famous artists have played at the venue. Having the second largest dance floor in Minnesota, the Ballroom today continues its tradition of hosting excellent live entertainment in a magical atmosphere. In addition, the Ballroom is a premier choice for private functions including weddings, reunions, banquets, corporate meetings, trade shows etc. There are three rooms available for events. The large ballroom holds anywhere from 150 to 1600 attendees. The Banquet room holds up to 185. The Grooms room holds up to 100. The Ballroom provides full service catering, decoration services, table settings, as well as four full service bars.
